Brig. Gen. Samuel L. Glasgow of the 23d Iowa Civil War regiment, died at Washington, D. C. Two hours after the funeral Mrs. Glasgow, formerly Miss Winona Schlachter, of Burlington, committed suicide with her husband’s old army pistol.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows Samuel was born Sept. 17, 1838 and died Jan. 16, 1916. Winona was born Oct. 15, 1870 and died Jan. 19, 1916. Her maiden name was spelled Schlichter. They are both buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
