Ethel M. Nesius

Ehtel M. Nesius, 83, of 2501 Mount Pleasant St., died at 4:10 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, 1991, at Burlington Medical Center.

Born June 29, 1907, in Des Moines County, she was the daughter of Herman and Anna Timmerman Miller. She married Roy C. Nesius Feb. 18, 1931, in rural Burlington. He died May 20, 1963.

She worked in food service at the Burlington School system, retiring with 23 years of service. She was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ, Adah Dorcas Circle, Mixed Spices, Moose Lodge, and R.S.V.P. She sang in the church choir for 50 years and was also a Silver Singer with R.S.V.P.

Survivors include four daughters, Ma(r)jorie Ita and Martha Landstrom, both of Burlington, Mary Lou Wilson, New London, and Janelle Harken, Boone; one son, James Nesius, Burlington; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday in Lunning Chapel.

The funeral for Mrs. Nesius will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Zion United Church of Christ with the Rev. Gary Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the Zion United Church of Christ music department.
