Maurice (Buss) Schuler

Maurice (Buss) Schuler, 65, of 206 S. Garfield, died in Burlington Medical Center at 3:15 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14.

Son of Charles and Gladys Fullerton Schuler, he was born at Oquawka, Ill., Oct. 11, 1915. He married Jacqueline Nixon Dec. 26, 1943, in Burlington.

Mr. Schuler had been a member of the Burlington Community Schools staff and had operated Schuler Trading Post. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Hawkeye Whittling and Carving Club, National Woodcarvers Museum, and RSVP.

Surviving: The wife; son Matthew, Burlington; daughter Susan Wolbers, Burlington Rt. 2; his mother, Gladys Schuler, Burlington; brother Norvan Schuler, Loogootee, Ind.; sister Emily Lange, West Burlington; and one grandchild.

Funeral: 1 p.m. Thursday, Lunning Chapel, the Rev. Alton C. Koengeter; St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Benton Township. A memorial for Faith Lutheran Church has been established.
