Kenneth Lee Brockway

Mediapolis - Kenneth Lee Brockway, 88, of Mediapolis, died Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born February 3, 1932 he was the son of Floyd and Florence (Wasson) Brockway. He married Patricia Ann Nichols on July 16, 1954 in Junction City, Kansas. She died March 16, 2019.

Kenneth was an Army veteran serving in the Korean War. He worked as a Tool and Dye Machinist for J.I. Case for over 30 years.

He was a member of Cornerstone Community Bible Church. He loved horseback riding and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, mushroomin' and fishing. He enjoyed many travels with his wife and together they attended many bluegrass festivals. He loved watching NASCAR, but more importantly rooting for his favorite driver John Brockway at area racetracks.

Survivors include his three children; Terry Bliss of Mediapolis, Catherine (William) Stalker of Charlotte, North Carolina and John (Sandy) Brockway of Morning Sun; eleven grandchildren, Dusty, Denny, Kara, Nathan, Grant, Jeremy, Jakob, Stephani, Matthew, Andrew and Kylie, step granddaughter Kate and one great grandson Waylon Floyd Watts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one sister Patricia Petty.

The Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military honors at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, January 16th at Lunning Chapel. The graveside funeral service and interment for Kenneth will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 16th at Aspen Grove Cemetery. Pastor Jeff King will officiate.

A memorial has been established for the National Kidney Foundation in memory of Kenneth Brockway.
