Michelle "Shelly" Wagler, 55, of Burlington, died at 9:16 AM Wednesday, September 23, 2020, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born May 18, 1965, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Ulysses Dale and Delores Jane Long Wagler.
She was a graduate of Burlington High School.
Shelly loved her parents, sisters and nieces, friends and relatives. She enjoyed staying in touch and up to date with them. She had a big heart, and remarkable memory, always sending greeting and condolence cards to everyone she knew. She enjoyed playing bingo, taking the Yellow Cab to shop at WalMart, and was a Saint Louis Cardinals fan. She loved her country music, going to many live concerts over the years, and always attending Steamboat Days and Old Threshers. She faced many medical difficulties throughout her life, but she was always resilient, always triumphing over the hardships she was pitted against. She never let them stop her from doing what she loved, and she certainly never let them define who she was. She was of Baptist Faith.
Survivors include two sisters, Marcia Bickel of Denver, CO and Mary (Steve) Williams of San Diego, CA, three nieces, Tabitha Tabron, Emilie Bickel and Charity Tabron, one great niece Maiya, her beloved cat Mittens, and her special friends and caregivers.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law Ron Bickel.
Visitation will be from noon until 5:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM, Sunday, September 27, 2020 at Prugh's Chapel; 317 N 4th St. Burlington, IA.
The Graveside Funeral Service for Ms. Wagler will be 2:00 PM Monday, September 28, 2020 at Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery and with Dean Graber officiating. Due to the concerns regarding COVID-19, masks and social distancing are encouraged.
