Mary Margaret “Peggy” Schulte, 99, of Mediapolis, Iowa died 11:27 p.m. April 9, 2019 at the Savannah Heights Care Center in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.

Born September 1, 1919 in New York City, New York she was the daughter of Charles Easton and Margaret (Heydrick) Hartman. She married John J. “Jack” Schulte on November 3, 1946 in Dodgeville, Iowa. He died September 30, 1994.

Peggy was a teacher for the Burlington School System for 29 years, retiring to take care of her father.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Dodgeville, a lifetime member of the Iowa State Education Association, the Embroiderers Guild, the Golden Age Group of St. Mary’s Dodgeville and R.S.V.P.

Survivors include her three children; Rosemary Larson of Mt. Pleasant, Michael (Linda) Schulte of Mediapolis and David (Melody) Schulte of Dodgeville; six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one grandson.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Schulte will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 12th at St. Mary Catholic Church, Dodgeville. The Rev. Father Dan Dorau will be the celebrant. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Dodgeville. Family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until the time of mass.

A memorial has been established for the Mediapolis Public Library.
