LOIS W. HAMILTON
Lois W. Hamilton, age 93, of Wapello and formerly of Morning Sun, died Wednesday morning, August 8, 2018, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
The daughter of Wayne J. and Marvel M. Kerr Wilson, she was born on September 8, 1924 in Morning Sun. Lois graduated from Morning Sun High School and attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She married Eugene K. Hamilton on June 8, 1944 in LaJolla, California.
She was the Louisa County Director of Southeast Iowa Homemakers, Inc. and Secretary of Louisa County Public Health for more than fifty years. Lois was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Morning Sun along with the What-So-Ever Class at the Oakland Presbyterian Church in rural Morning Sun. She enjoyed birds and flowers.
Her family includes her husband, Eugene; daughter, Carolyn Hotzel of Denver; son, Keith and Jill Hamilton of Lincoln, Nebraska; three granddaughters, Hilary Stanfa, Hannah Hamilton, and Halle Hamilton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Cheryl Williamson; two brothers, Leland Scott Wilson and Dr. Donald Wilson; and a sister, Eileen McElhinney.
Following the fulfillment of cremation, the family will meet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday, August 13, 2018, at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home.
The funeral ceremony will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at the First Presbyterian Church in Morning Sun with Rev. Jon Evans officiating. Burial will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery in Morning Sun.
Memorial contributions will benefit the Louisa County Public Health.
