Mrs. Martha Hobbs, 81, of 1010 First avenue, Iowa City, a former resident of Burlington, died Thursday, Nov. 4, in Mercy hospital, Iowa City.
A native of Dubuque, she was born on Christmas day, 1889, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Baumann. She married the late Charles Hobbs in Burlington.
Mrs. Hobbs was a member of the First Christian church and of VFW auxiliary.
Surviving: two sons and four daughters, Ralph and Eugene Hobbs and Mrs. Patsy Hartman, all of Burlington. Mrs. Esther Cornwell and Mrs. Doris Dvorak, both of Iowa City, and Mrs. Betty Kilty of Stillwater, Minn; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral: Sheagren funeral home, 2 p.m., Saturday; Rev. John Vickers; Aspen Grove Cemetery
