Passes Away in Omaha at the Home of Her Daughter.
----
Was the Mother of Bernhard and Walter Waldin
Funeral Was Held This Afternoon.
----

At the home of her daughter, Mrs.R.F. Koelemann, in Omaha, occurred last Friday night the death of Mrs. Johanna Waldin, widow of the late O. Waldin, and mother of Bernhard and Walter Waldin of this city.

Mrs. Waldin had but recently returned to Omaha from Miami, Fla. where she had passed the winter with her son, Walter. B.A. Waldin went to Miami several weeks ago and brought Mrs. Waldin back to Omaha as she seemed to have recovered.

Mrs. Waldin was formerly Johanna Pilling, a native of Germany, where she was born in 1829. She was married to Mr. Waldin in Saxony in 1849. Up to the time of her coming to America in 1864, her husband had been for seventeen years a soldier in the Prussian army. They first located in Quincy, Ill., remaining there three years. It was 1867 when they came to Burlington and bought the 160 acre farm north of town in Burlington township.

Deceased was the mother of five children, two of whom died in infancy, and the three before named, Bernhard, Walter and Mrs. Koelemann, survive her. Since the death of her husband in 1892 she had divided her time at the homes of her children. She was a communicant of the Lutheran church, but was never affiliated with any church body in this country.

The funeral was held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the home of her son, Walter, five miles north of the city. Interment was in the Waldin family burial ground.

A quartette composed of Wm. Muenzenmeyer, Otto Muenzenmeyer, Carl Schwan and Wm. Doering sang several appropriate selections.
