Mrs. Margaret Sperber Passed Away This Morning.

A precious one from us has gone.
A voice we loved is stilled;
A place is vacant in her home,
Which never can be filled.
God in His wisdom has recalled
The boon His love has given.
And though tin’ body slumbers In re

Mrs. Margaret Sperber died this morning at 6:30 o'clock at the family home, nine miles on the Upper Augusta road, aged 85 years, 3 months and 7 days. She was born in Germany December 21, 1817, and came to this country and to Burlington on October 15, 1839; live in Burlington till 1853, when she with her husband moved to the present home nine miles from Burlington on the Upper Augutsa road.

Her husband, John Sperber, died on the 18th day of July, 1876. Mrs. Sperber was well known in the community in which she lived and was respected by all who knew her for her many kind and Christian deeds. She was a devout member of St. Mary’s Catholic church of Augusta. She leaves seven children: George Sperber, of Colorado; Mrs. Barbara Kant, wife of George Kant, of this city; Mrs. Sophia Bowman, of til is county; John Sperber, are siding near the home place; Jacob,
Hairiet and Kate at home.
