Life Resident Of County Dies

Mrs. Lena Hendrickson, 67, Succumbs To Long Illness - Funeral Tuesday

Mrs. Lena Hendrickson, 67, life resident of Des Moines county, died at Burlington hospital yesterday afternoon, following an extended illness.

Mrs. Hendrickson, formerly Miss Lena Schroeder, was born near Burlington, Feb 13, 1863. On Nov. 2, 1882, she was married to Peter Hendrickson, who preceded her in death. Mr. and Mrs. Hendrickson retired from their farm in 1912 and moved to Mt. Pleasant, Ia., where they lived until 1916, when they removed to 2306 Vogt street, Burlington.

Mrs. Hendrickson was a life member of the Methodist Espiscopal church and attended the First Methodist church here. She is survived by her aged mother, Mrs. Louise Schroeder of Burlington; three daughters, Mrs. Phillip Wallentine of Donnellson, Mrs. Martin Beckman of Burlington and Mrs. Sam Wagler of Burlington; two sons, Prof. H. O. Hendrickson of Albion college, Albion, Mich., and Superintendent of Schools F. W. Hendrickson of Adair, Ia.; 16 grandchildren; six sisters, Mrs. William Wusso of Burlington, Mrs. Clara Mehmken of Burlington, Mrs. Theodore Wagner and Mrs. Chris Wallentine of Danville, Mrs. Anna Reineke and Mrs. Gus Khehans of Farmington, and two brothers, Charles W. Schroeder of Danville and Fred Schroeder of Cottage Grove, Ore.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Martin Beckman, 2035 Highland avenue, with whom she had made her home during the past year. Dr. J. F. Boeye, pastor of First Methodist church will officiate.
