Peterson rites will be Friday

Services for Raymond Peterson, 79, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Behner Funeral Home.

The Rev. Lenwood Monte will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Fund.

Peterson died at 7 a.m. Wednesday at 607 E. Adams. He was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County. He retired as foreman of the Fairfield Street Department in 1971 after serving in that capacity for 18 years.

He was a member of the Augustana Lutheran Church in Lockridge, and he was a member of the Eagles Lodge.

Raymond W. Peterson was born Jan. 27, 1905, south of Lockridge. He was the son of Gust and Christina Larson Peterson. His marriage to Mary W. Walker took place July 26, 1930. She died June 7, 1969.

Survivors include two sisters: Mabel Murphy, Fairfield, and Minnie Pyle, Burlington. He was preceded in death by a daughter, a son, five brothers and a sister.
