Alex K. Finley resident of Burlington for nineteen years, passed away at 9:15 last evening at his home, No. 308 North Sixth Street, after an illness of some time. He leaves a wife and four daughters to mourn his death.

Mr. Finley was born on June 22, 1848, and passed all of his life in this state, serving during the Civil War as a member of Company C, 13th Iowa Volunteers, I.N.F. During his many years in this city, he had held several positions, being for a long time foreman on various city works and assistant to the street commissioner. A host of friends join his bereaved relatives in grief at his passing.
