Mr. Harry Webster Dean, 73 of Mediapolis, was found dead Friday at 4 a.m. in a car at his residence.

Dr. Evan Peterson, county medical examiner, was called to the scene. Cause of death is undetermined, pending laboratory reports.

He was born December 27, 1917* (sic: this was his wedding date), in Des Moines county the son of Isaac N. and Mary Ellen Dean.

He farmed in the county for several years, retiring in 1956.

On December 27, 1917, in Burlington he married Emma L. Sauermann. He served in the Army during World War I.

Surviving are: his wife; one son, Robert N. Dean, Mediapolis, two sisters, Mrs. Mae Steffener, Sperry, Mrs. Mary Cline, Markle, Indiana; two brothers, Willard Dean, Burlington, Orville Dean, Peoria, Illinois; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Four brothers and one sister died earlier.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday from Prugh's Chapel, Reverend James Garrett officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery. Military rites will be conducted at graveside by the American Legion Post of Mediapolis.
