Fred Scheihing, German Native, Dies in Hospital

Fred Scheihing, 65, of Irish Ridge road, resident of this section for 60 years, died yesterday at 2:45 a.m. at Mercy hospital after an extended illness.

Mr. Scheihing was born in Württemberg, Germany, November 28, 1864, and come to the United States with his parents in 1856. He married Elizabeth Roemer, who survives, in Burlington on October 30, 1888. He was a member of the Evangelical church at Latty.

Surviving are his widow, one son, Albert Scheihing of Sperry; six daughters, Mrs. Bertha Cuddeback, Mrs. Anna Heckenberg, and Mrs. Julia McAllister of Burlington; Mrs. Emma Walker of Sperry and Mrs. Tillie Lutenegger of Prairie Grove; an adopted son, John Scheihing of Burlington; four brothers and one sister. A daughter died in infancy.

The body was taken to Unterkircher's funeral home pending funeral arrangements.
