News has been received by relatives in this city of the death of Mrs. Caroline Jarvis at Winchester, Massachusetts. Mrs. Jarvis was the widow of the late Henry J. Jarvis and the mother of Mr. H.E. Jarvis , of this city. Her home was in Burlington for many years, bur for some time she has been visiting her son, Walker [Walter] Jarvis in Massachusetts, and it was at his home that her death occurred. She was seventy-six years of age. The remains will be brought to Burlington for burial. They will arrive here on Sunday morning and the funeral services will be held from the residence of H.E. Jarvis, No. 1901 West avenue, at 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon. (Burlington Evening Gazette, Burlington, IA, July 19, 1900)

A very large crowd of sympathizing friends attended the last sad obsequies over the remains of Mrs. Caroline Jarvis, which were held at the home of her son, H.E. Jarvis, No. 1901 West avenue, at 3 o’clock yesterday afternoon. Dr. Salter officiated. He was assisted by Rev. Stebbins. The pall was borne by Dr. Nichols, John McLain, W.W.
