A. L. Courter Dies After Year's Illness

Alexander L. Courter, 81, died at Burlington hospital Friday evening following an illness of a year's duration. He had been hospitalized ten days.

Mr. Courter, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Courter. was born on a farm near Winfield on May 20, 1868.

In 1892 he was married to the former Sally Willis who died in 1946.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Cecil Wolfe, West Burlington; a son, Russell, Hillsboro; two brothers, Oscar and Harlan, Winfield; three sisters, Mrs. John Hannah, Morning Sun; Mrs. Sam Ogg, Salem; Ruth Courter, Frenchburg, Kentucky; and ten grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Courter home east of Winfield and burial was in Elmwood cemetery.
