Kate Wirt, 76, 141 N. 7th, died at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, June 30, at St. Francis Continuation Care Center. She was born Dec. 26, 1896, in Des Moines County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William A. Wirt. She worked at Bob's Market and was a member of First United Methodist church and the church's Pilger's Group. Surviving: Two brothers, John and Joe, both of Burlington; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Burley of Hawthorne, CA., and Mrs. Dorothy Hancock of Escondido, CA. Funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Prugh's Chapel; Rev. Leroy W. Moore. Memorial Park Cemetery.
