Born Oct. 1, 1930, in Rensseler, Ind., she was the daughter of B. W. and Pauline Lyons Hoon. On Oct. 2, 1948, she married Marvin Lyle Crowell in Chandlerville, Ill. He died on Jan. 5, 2006.
Mrs. Crowell was a 1948 graduate of Chandlerville High School. She enjoyed TV, reading, crossword puzzles and playing cards.
Survivors include three sons, James Edward Crowell of Tallahassee, Fla., Rodney Duane Crowell and Randall Craig Crowell, both of Burlington; one daughter, Sheryl Ann Anderson of Burlington; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jim Hoon of Beardstown, Ill.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter, one brother and one sister.
There will be no visitation.
The private graveside memorial service for Mrs. Crowell will be at a later date in Aspen Grove Cemetery. According to her wishes, the body of Mrs. Crowell has been cremated.
A memorial has been established to Hope Haven and Great River Hospice.
