Belle Jenkins, 93, of Burlington, died at 8 a.m. Sunday, February 22, 2004 at Great River Medical Center, Klein Center.

Born April 15, 1910 in Ottumwa, she was the daughter of Sidney Albert and Emma Mick Thompson. On July 31, 1933, she married Harold F. Brenneke in Quincy, Illinois. On October 31, 1953, she married David H. Jenkins in Burlington. He died January 7, 1987

Mrs. Jenkins was a homemaker. She also was a stockroom supervisor for 13 years for Burlington Instrument Co.

She was of the Methodist faith. She enjoyed golf and bowling and was an avid reader.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Jo Snowden of Burlington; two sons, David W. Brenneke of West Branch and Roger S. Brenneke of Burlington; one stepson, Terry D. Jenkins of San Diego; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of service Thursday in Prugh's Chapel.

The funeral for Mrs. Jenkins will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Prugh's Chapel, with the Rev. Betsy Lee officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for big print books for the Burlington Public Library.
