Eunice Ida (Gerlach) Walker

Born July 10, 1912, in Burlington, she was the daughter of George and Eunice Agnes Bree Gerlach. On Feb. 10, 1932, she married Delmer Pearl Walker in Oquawka, Ill. He died Jan. 12, 2000.
She was of the Southern Baptist faith. She was a homemaker. Over the years, she enjoyed bowling, bingo and playing cards. She was an active volunteer with her church and local nursing homes for many years.
Survivors include one son, Delmer Walker of Burlington; two daughters, Sandra Hoelzen of Gladstone, Ill., and Junealee Lair of New London; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother, two sisters, two grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Prugh's Chapel.
The funeral service for Mrs. Walker will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Prugh's Chapel, with the Rev. Leonard Schantz officiating. Interment will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the Des Moines County Humane Society.
