Dorothea Elizabeth Marie Warth, 88, of Burlington, IA., died at 11:30 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2008, at Blair House in Burlington.

Born June 2, 1919, in Davenport, Iowa, she was the daughter of William Frederick and Hazel Elizabeth Jaeger Schwerin. On June 17, 1950, she married Marvin F. Warth in Burlington. He died on June 10, 1999.

Mrs. Warth was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. She was very proud of her grandchildren. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and jigsaw puzzles. She enjoyed cooking and canning the produce from her family garden. She was an Iowa Basketball fan.

Survivors include one son, Dennis Eugene (Marnette) Warth of Ames, IA.; one daughter, Donna Lee Kartel of Phoenix, Arizona; three grandchildren; one sister, Bonnie Wolf of Sanford, Florida; one sister-in-law, Esther Schwerin of Burlington.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Kenneth Schwerin and Leo Schwerin, one sister, Marquerite Boyle.

The funeral for Mrs. Warth will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Prugh's Chapel. Pastor Carl Engstrom will officiate. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for Bethany Lutheran Church.

No formal visitation is planned. Friends may call in Prugh's Chapel on Thursday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
