Phyllis Cross, 75, of Danville, died at 5:45 AM Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at her home in Danville.
Born April 20, 1939, in Oakville, IA, she was the daughter of Levi and Alsace Lorraine Charbonneau Heinold. On December 22, 1957, she married Denny Cross in Danville.
Phyllis worked for Champion Spark Plug Co., was a homemaker and day care provider, at Danville State Saving Bank, Danville City Hall, at Danville Mutual Telephone Company, and as a caterer.
She was a 1957 graduate of Danville High School.
She was a member of Long Creek United Methodist Church in Danville. She loved gardening, making crafts, spending time at her parent's lake, and spending time with her dog, Tajzhi, who passed away in October. Family and friends were most important to her.
Survivors include her husband; her mother of Danville; one son, Randy (Amanda) Cross of Danville; two daughters, Jo Lynn (Kevin) Mehaffy of Danville and Tracey (Doug) Beckman of Burlington; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren on the way; one sister, Dianne Hurman of San Benito, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Tom.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Thielen Crematory.
Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday, January 2, 2015 at Thielen Funeral Home.
The Celebration of Life for Mrs. Cross will be 10:00 AM Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Thielen Funeral Home with Jim and Reva Davis officiating. Burial will be in Edwards Cemetery in Oakville at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
