The funeral of Tyra Lines was held in the Baptist church last Wednesday afternoon at three o'clock. Rev. Compton preached from the text, "I have fought a good fight,"etc. Mr. Lines had been a member of the Baptist church since 1854, and was always a consistent member and a good citizen. Mr. Tyra Lines, who had been suffering from Bright's Disease at his home near the water works, in this city, died at half past seven o'clock this morning, aged 72 years. Funeral services will be held at the Baptist church at two o'clock tomorrow afternoon, conducted by Rev. Compton and Warren Post of the Grand Army, of which body Mr. Lines was a member. Tyra Lines, an old man 73 years of age, died at his home in East Clarinda, Tuesday morning, after a month's severe illness from consumption and a combination of diseases. He was a soldier in the civil war and was buried at 3 p.m. yesterday under the auspices of the G. A. R. post, Rev.Compton preaching the funeral sermon at the Baptist church.
