Mrs. Aletha Mae Thomas died February 9 at 9:10 p.m., at her home 2 miles east of New London.

The former Aletha Mae Vandemark, she was the daughter of Elijah and Katherine Vandemark, and was born May 16, 1899. On January 22, 1924, she was married to LeRoy Thomas, who survives.

Mrs. Thomas was a member of Shinar Cumberland Presbyterian church, at Pleasant Grove. With the exception of 8 years spent in the Trenton community, she was a life resident of the New London Pleasant Grove area.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Thomas leaves 10 children: Donald L. and Surell Thomas, both of New London; Charles Everett Thomas, Mediapolis; Mrs. Genevieve Conner, Mt. Pleasant, and John Thomas, Mary Katherine, Mary Alice, Marvin D., Evelyn W, and Larry LeRoy Thomas, all at home.

Also surviving are sisters: Mrs. Ruth , Sev Kansas, and Mrs. C, Yarmouth, a brother, Fred Spe?, of Kansas, and a foster, Ralph Vandemark, Pleasant Grove. There are 3 grandchildren.

Last rites will be at Shinar church at 2 p.m. Sunday. Officiating will be the former pastor of the church, Reverend George Krieg, Beech Cox, Ill and the present pastor, Reverend C. A. Baldwin. The body will be at the McDonald funeral home, at New London, and _____.
