Fred Stephenson, 80, of 2830 Winegard Drive, died Monday, February 28, in Burlington Medical Center.

He was born August 18, 1902, at Gladstone, Illinois, the son of Silvester John and Mary Boughton Stephenson. On July 14, 1927, he married Margaret Kissinger at Chariton.

He was maintenance man at Camp's Laundry prior to his retirement, was a member of Modern Woodsman of America, Senior Citizens, National Senior Citizens and Hawkeye Natives.

Surviving: The wife; son, Fred Stephenson Jr., Morrison, Illinois; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Ells, Burlington, Mrs. Martha Sparrow, Hiawatha; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Gladman, Burlington, Mrs. Eva Young, Cedar Rapids; 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Open Bible Church, the Reverend John A. Royer; Memorial Park Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to Open Bible Church at Prugh's Chapel.
