DEATH CLAIMS MRS. CLUFF, 83, OF TAMA TWP
Mrs. Louisa Jane Cluff, 88, native of Des Moines county, died at her home In Tama township Wednesday evening at 6 o'clock following a long illness.
The former Louisa Howe, she was born March 17, 1855, the daughter of McCager and Annie Howe. She was married to James Walker who died, and she later married James Cluff who also preceded her in death, as did a son and daughter.
She is survived by seven children: Mrs. William Walker of Des Moines county; C. W. Walker, Des Moines county; Martin C. Walker, Morning Sun, Iowa; Alva G. Cluff, of Des Moines county; Clark H. Walker, Des Moines county; Mrs. Ed Brammeier, Mediapolis; and James E. Cluff, of Des Moines county. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Caroline Hurt of Burlington and Mrs. Mary Burkholder of Kansas; a brother, Tim Howe of Kansas; 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Cluff was a member of the Methodist church at Mediapolis. Services will be held at Prugh's chapel Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. Burial will be in Walker cemetery.
