Esther Coleen Reid, 96, of Burlington died Friday, March 23, 2012, at Great River Medical Center -- Klein Center in Burlington.
Born Feb. 3, 1916, in Cloverton, Minn., she was the daughter of Frank and Meda Clapper Buckert. On Dec. 16, 1933, she married Orio Clifton Reid in Quincy, Ill. He died Feb. 13, 1994.
Mrs. Reid worked at Goodwin Beauty Shop for 15 years and later at the Burlington Hospital supply department as a supply aide before retiring in 1983. She enjoyed traveling, sewing and gardening.
Survivors include one sister, Irma Huls of Monticello, Fla.; two nieces and one nephew.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister, one son and one infant daughter.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Prugh's Chapel in Burlington.
The funeral for Mrs. Reid will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with the Rev. Dean Benton officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
