Morning Sun (IA) -- Clarence (Shorty) Hartman, 52, died Thursday at his home in Morning Sun.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Morning Sun. Reverend David Holmes will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, with Military Rights to be conducted by Hays-Scott Post No. 112 of the American Legion.
Family visitation will be from 7:30 to 8:30 tonight at the Pierce Funeral Home, Morning Sun.
Shorty Hartman was born March 22, 1923, in Roscoe, Iowa, the son of Cecil and Laura (Gregory) Hartman.
Mr. Hartman had served in World War II. He had been a painter in the Morning Sun area, and had recently been employed at the Weber Implement in Morning Sun.
Surviving are his father, Cecil Hartman, Morning Sun; two brothers Leo and Bill, both of Morning Sun; two sisters, Mrs. Doris Strawhacker, Oakville, and Mrs. JaNan Summers, Morning Sun; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
