Mary Jane Moyers, 66, of 711 Summer Street, died at 4:20 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 1996, at Burlington Medical Center.

Born November 7, 1929, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Rosaline Mentrup Specketer. She married Doyle Edward Moyers Sr. February 16, 1952, at St. John's Catholic Church.

She was a homemaker and a caregiver and was a member of the DAV Auxiliary, Senior Citizens, Golden Oldies and St. John's Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband; four sons, Doyle E. Moyers Jr. of Bakersfield, California, and Kenneth C. Moyers, Joseph D. Moyers and Samuel D. Moyers, all of Burlington; four daughters, Linda M. Hodges of Fort Madison, and Susan D. Zippe, Debra J. Daly, and Bonnie K. Moyers, all of Burlington; 21 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Rosemary Maurer of Pinehurst, North Carolina; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Prugh's Chapel.

The funeral for Mrs. Moyers will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Catholic Church with the Reverend John Hyland officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.
