Monique Therese Mundt , 86, formerly of Burlington and Pella, Iowa, and most recently Poulsbo, Washington died in Bainbridge Island, Washington on Tuesday, September 9th, 2014.
Born on March 9th, 1928 in Nice, France, she was the daughter of Francois D. and Lucie M. Chaumeau Pagnac. He died in 1938 and she in 1976. She married Charles E Mundt on June 10th, 1947 in Nice, France. He died on January 16th, 1970.
Monique was employed by IRC/TRW for 35yrs.
She enjoyed her flower garden, watching the birds, making new friends and being a great friend to many. She also thoroughly enjoyed her caregiver's company and making them laugh. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She enjoyed being around water and fishing in many locations because she missed the Mediterranean Sea where she grew up. She loved helping others, spending many hours volunteering. She received the Iowa Governors Volunteer Award in 1995. She was most recently a member of St Olaf"s Catholic Church in Poulsbo, Washington.
She is survived by one son, Rex (Donna) Mundt of Ankeny, Iowa; three daughters, Gloria (Sean) Wagstaff of Prior Lake, Minnesota, Nancy (Doug) Meck of Poulsbo, Washington and Michelle (Fausto) Fernandez of Holland, Michigan; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and one step-grandson.
A memorial service will be held at St. Olaf Catholic Church, Poulsbo, Washington on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church, Pella, Iowa, on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. Father Jeff Belger will be the celebrant.
The graveside ash committal service for Monique will be held on Monday, November 17, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Deacon Bob Glaser will officiate.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Prugh Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for the St. Olaf Catholic Church, Poulsbo, Washington and St. Mary Catholic Church, Pella, Iowa. Condolences may be left at www.prughfuneralservice.com.
