Rosemary Lorraine Ehret, 93, of Burlington, died at 10:55 AM Monday, September 8, 2014, at the Blair House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Burlington.

Born April 5, 1921, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Frederick and Theresa Daisy Nieman Krabbe. On February 13, 1945, she married Frank William Ehret in Burlington, Iowa. He died May 10, 2011.

Rosemary was employed for 15 years at Chittenden & Eastman Company.

She was a 1939 graduate of St. Paul's Central Catholic High School.

She was a member of SS. John and Paul Catholic Church, St. John's Home and School Association and a St. Francis of Assisi Aide. She enjoyed working in the yard, crocheting and playing cards. She especially enjoyed time with her dog, Gracie. She cherished time spent at family activities.

Survivors include three sons, Jim (Ceil) Ehret of Fairborn, OH, David (Dianne) Ehret of Burlington, and Stephen (Polly) Ehret of New Sharon; three daughters, Joan Ehret of Iowa City, Debbie Ehret of Coralville, and Lisa (Kirk) Wilson of Burlington; 11 grandchildren, James Jr. (Colleen) Ehret, Stephen (Beth) Ehret, Katy Ehret, Amy (Barry) Spicher, Christopher Fouts, Andrea (Dan) Achenbach, Allison (Eric) Blodgett, Kristina Ehret, Nick Ehret, Alicia (Chris) Arkema and Carly Ehret; 12 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Noah, Audrey, Charlotte, Zachary, Nick, Stone, Jade, Taylor, Adaline, Andrew, and Avery; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one grandson.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Thielen Crematory.

Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends following a 5:00 PM Rosary Service until 7:00 PM Friday, September 12, 2014, at Thielen Funeral Home.

The Memorial Mass of the Resurrection for Mrs. Ehret will be 9:30 AM Saturday, September 13, 2014, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. Father Marty Goetz as the Celebrant. Music will be provided by the Des Moines County Resurrection Choir. Inurnment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held at St. John's cafeteria following the inurnment.

Memorials have been established for SS. John and Paul Catholic Church, Great River Hospice and the Des Moines County Humane Society.
