MEDIAPOLIS - Mr. Durward Leroy Bloomberg, 83, Mediapolis, died Sunday at 4:15 p.m. at Klein Memorial hospital in Burlington.

A native of Keithsburg, Ill., he was born Aug. 14, 1880, the son of C.J.H. and Marie Louise Bloomberg. He moved with his family to a farm near Mediapolis in 1884 and remained a resident of the community. He was a life member of the Immanuel Lutheran church at Mediapolis.

On Feb. 25, 1914, he was married to Ida Charlotte Davis.

Survivors include: two sons and a daughter, Glenn and Mark Bloomberg, both of Mediapolis; Mrs. Marie Swedberg, Southerland, Neb.; four sisters and two brothers, Mable and Florence Bloomberg, both of Mediapolis; Mrs. Ethel Gustafson, Mediapolis; Mrs. Emma Youngquist, Davenport, Louis of Burlington; Carl of Mediapolis; 14 grandchildren. His wife, a son, a daughter and three sisters are dead.

Services will be Wednesday 2 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran church with the Rev. Keith A. Pearson officiating. Burial will be in Kossuth cemetery.
