Viola Isabella Danielson, 89, of Burlington, died at 9:16 a.m. Sunday, January 11, 2004, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa.

Born, November 10, 1914, in Sciota, Illinois, she was the daughter of William and Bessie Cromer Smith. On June 18, 1938, she married Ernest Danielson in Kahoka, Missouri. He died September 19, 1994.

Mrs. Danielson retired as assistant manager of Newmode Hosiery Store in Burlington and later worked for the former Cook's discount store in Burlington. She was a crossing guard for 15 years.

She was a member of Church of the Open Bible. She loved gardening, making homemade rugs, traveling, chickens and red birds. She enjoyed eating at Arby's.

Survivors include two daughters, Violet Knouse of
Texas and Beverly Danielson of Burlington; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four nephews; and two nieces.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, three brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Prugh's Chapel, where the family will receive friend from 6 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Danielson will be at Church of the Open Bible, with Pastor Ken Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.
