Richard Earle Morris, 78, of Burlington, died at 11 p.m. Sunday, November 9, 2003, at his home.

Born September 15, 1925, in Stockport, he was the son of Delbert Morris. In 1962,he married Lucille Ellen Marr in California. She preceded him in death.

Mr. Morris was a purchasing agent for a construction company.

He was of the Protestant faith. He was a member of the Eagles, Moose and Elks clubs and a local bowling league. he enjoyed deep sea fishing and golfing.

Survivors include two sons, Richard S. Morris and David W. Morris, both of Burlington; two daughters, Cynthia Rashid of Fort Madison and Terrie Blout of Charleston, S.C.; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Open visitation will be Thursday at Prugh's Chapel. There will be no family visitation.

A memorial service for Mr. Morris will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Prugh's Chapel, with the Rev. Forrest Krummel officiating.
