Death's Doings.

M. J. Sater Called

Sunday the death of the well-known M. J. Sater occurred at his home in the city. The deceased was born in Kentucky sixty-five years ago. At the age of ten he came to Iowa and lived on a farm. He at one time owned what is known as Sater's island, a large tract of bottom land, but unfortunate business ventures caused him to lose the title to all but eighty acres of it. He had erected a large house upon the upper part of the trace and this now stand on the river bank, a landmark and a ruin. He had been following the vocation of a teamster in the city. He is survived by wife and three sons, Elijah, Charley and Joseph. Death was due to organic disease of the hear. The remains were interred yesterday in the Sater cemetery on the bluff six miles north of the city.
