BURLINGTON - David Wendell McLain, 54, of Burlington, former area resident, died at 7:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 12, 1996, at Burlington Medical Center Emergency Treatment Center.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Asbury United Methodist Church in Burlington, with the Rev. Fred Harris officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Visitation will open at Lunning Chapel in Burlington, with the family present from 7 to 8:30 tonight. A memorial has been established.
McLain was born April 26, 1941, in Canton, Ill., the son of Harold "Dale" and Dorothy Buckman McLain. He graduated from Fairfield High School, and served in the Army in Japan from 1959 to 1962. On Nov. 24, 1965, he married Blanche Marie Miller at West Burlington Methodist Church. He worked for a General Electric for 33 years a maintenance supervisor, facility engineer and various other positions. He was affliated with Asbury United Methodist Church, and was a member of Quarter Century Club of General Electric.
Surviving are his wife of Burlington; three daughters, Lori Mixer of Burlington, Katha Crawford of Germany, Connie Koenigsfeld of Twin Cities, Minn.; a son, Jay of Iowa City; six grandchildren; his mother of Lockridge; two brothers, John of Lockridge, Ron of Sarasota, Fla.; five sisters, Karen Geysbeek of Sebring, Fla., Judy Mayer of Reading, Pa., Diane Brokken and Beck Schwarz, both of Fairfield, and Martha Henderson of Stockport. His father and twin infant grandsons preceded him in death.
