Albert Carl Adolph, 80, of Burlington, died at 7:55 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2000, at the University Hospitals in Iowa City.
Born Aug. 16, 1919, in Burlington, he was the son of Carl and Ilene Wells Adolph. On Nov. 19, 1942, he married Helen Kirby in Kahoka, Mo.
Mr. Adolph was a 1938 graduate of Burlington High School and a lifelong resident of Burlington. He was a sheet metal worker for Burlington Northern before retirement.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Eagles, Railroad Retired Veterans and Burlington Gym. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Carol Sue Robinson and Deborah Lynn Whalen, both of Burlington; one sister, Harriett Sieberling of Burlington; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son and one brother.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday at Eicher-Sheagren Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
The funeral for Mr. Adolph will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Eicher-Sheagren Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tyrone Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for First Baptist Church.
