Mr. William Manford Harry Fichthorn, 79, died Sunday, March 17, 2013, at 1:30 a.m. at the family farm.

Born April 6, 1933 in Burlington, Iowa, he was the son of William M. and Eva M. Brockway Fichthorn.

Mr. Fichthorn was a 1951 graduate of Huron High School. He was a member of SS. John and Paul Catholic Church.

Bill loved to fish, watch baseball and attend the races at Thirty Four Raceways in Burlington. He was proud to have served his country in the Navy.

Bill was a lifelong farmer on the family farm near Kingston, north of Burlington.

Survivors include his sister, Juanita Erickson of Sperry; four nephews, Todd (Catherine) Erickson of North Liberty, Miles (Gina) Erickson of Kingston, Wade (Tanya) Erickson of Sperry, and Neil (Jenny) Erickson of Denver, Iowa; two nieces, Patricia (Dave) Lamb of Inverness, Florida, and Theresa Kelly) Beaver of Bloomington, Illinois; along with several great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Alecia Fenton; a nephew, Kent Erickson; and brothers-in-law, Clyde Erickson and Dwight Fenton.
