John Alfred Peterson, a resident of Burlington since 1881 died at his home, 318 Shields street, at 10 a.m. Monday following a long illness.
A native of Chicago, Peterson was born July 21, 1868 was married in Burlington on Jan. __, 1893 to Stella Van Dine, who survives. For over thirty years he was a shipping clerk at the Clinton-Copeland candy company.
He was a member of the Christian church.
Survivors in addition to the widow, are 3 sons, George, John, and Lewis, and two daughters, Mrs. Reuben Thye and Mrs. George Waste, all of Burlington. There are three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother.
Funeral services will be held from Burnett-Wallen funeral home at a time to be announced later. Burial in the Memorial Park cemetery.
