MRS. MARY BROWN

MORNING SUN—Mrs. Mary W. Brown, 74, died at Burlington hospital Friday after a brief illness.

She was the daughter of John W. and Susanna Houston Ried, and was born in Des Moines county near Mediapolis, Mar. 7 1889. Dec. 2, 1906, she married John C Brown.

They farmed in the Mediapolis area. On retirement in 1946, they moved to Morning Sun.

She was a member of the Sharon Reformed Pesbyterian church, the womans Missionary Society and the Morning Sun Sorosis club.

Her parents and a sister are dead. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Ralph, Mediapolis; Everett, Denver Colo; and Lester, Burlington; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Coberly, Danville; and Mrs. Belva Hannum, What Cheer; a brother, Eugen Ried, Mediapolis and a sister, Eunice Ried, Mediapolis; 18 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Services will be conducted by Dr. John Edgar at the Sharon Reformed Persbyterian church at 2 p.m. (CST) Monday. Burial will be in Sharon cemetery.
