Doris Evelyn McCann, 94, of Burlington, died at 6:00 a.m. Sunday, November 4, 2007, at GRMC Klein Unit in Burlington.

Born April 8, 1913, in Kirksville, Missouri, she was the daughter of Leroy and Neva Markey Ford. On November 25, 1931, she married Paul F. McCann in Rock Island, Illinois. He died April 24, 1988.

Mrs. McCann enjoyed boating on the Mississippi with her husband. In her 80s she tackled the task of learning to use the computer so she could e-mail her son and daughter. She loved to play solitare on the computer. She crocheted more afghans than can be counted and loved to sew dresses for her daughters. She was a member of SS John and Paul Catholic Church in Burlington.

Survivors include three daughters, Joyce (Joseph) Walz of Brighton, Colorago, Jill McCann of Burlington, and Jan (Bob) Green of Burlington; two sons, Gerald (Priscilla) McCann of Lewes, Delaware, and Jim (Margaret Ann) McCann of Burlington; 27 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; 38 great-great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, JoAnn Latta and Jane Griffel, six brothers and one sister.

The funeral for Mrs. McCann will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 8, 2007 at St. John's Catholic Church in Burlington with Fr. Patrick Hilgendorf officiating.

The Rosary will be recited in Prugh's Chapel on Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. Following the family will greet friends until 8:30 p.m. Music will be provided by the Resurrection Choir. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Burlington.
