Paul Edward Panther, 78, of 1003 S. 14th Street, died Tuesday, December 20, 1988, at the home of his daughter in Streamwood, Illinois.

Born May 15, 1910, at Dodgeville, he was the son of Leonard and Ursla Vorwerk Panther. On May 4, 1936, in Burlington, he married Frances Brumm.

He was the retired owner of the Palace Inn, Burlington. He was a World War II veteran and a member of the D.A.V., Eagles and St. John's Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Nancy Licht, Streamwood, Illinois; one brother, Ervin Panther, Rock Island, Illinois; two sisters, Charlotte Grabbe, Iverness, Florida, and Ruth Estill, Jesup; and three grandchildren.

The funeral mass for Mr. Panther will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. John Evangelical Catholic Church, Streamwood, Illinois. Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

Sheagren Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
