Robert Chambers "Pink" Parrott 1907 - 1957

Robert C. "Pink" Parrott, 49, 532 S. Adams, died Tuesday morning at Burlington Hospital. He had been hospitalized since Oct. 17.

He had been employed as a construction and maintenance worker at the Ordnance plant since 1941. He was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the local machinist's union.

Parrott was born Nov. 18, 1907, in Mount Union, the son of Fred C. and Anna Morgan Parrott. He married Gladys Green in Burlington on Jan. 16, 1925. The moved to Burlington from Yarmouth in 1933.

Surviving are his wife, a son, Nathan A. Parrott, of Burlington; a daughter, Sherry Jean, at home, his mother, Anna Parrott, of Burlington; two granddaughters, Amy and Cynthia; five sisters, Mrs. Harlan Thornburg, of Knoxville; Mrs. Jack Mizeria of Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Jess Stone, Mrs. Frank Bright, and Mrs. Howard Zink, of Burlington; and two brothers, Merle of Burlington, and Alan Parrott, of Santa Fe, N. Mex. A sister and brother are dead.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Wallen's chapel, Dr. George Hunt will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
