Wilma Evelyn Stafford, 83, of Burlington, died at 9:58 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2008, at Great River Medical Center Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born June 29, 1924, in rural Burlington, she was the daughter of Charles H. and Eva M. Anderson Timmerman. On October 10, 1939, she married Mark M. Stafford in Kahoka, Mo.

Mrs. Stafford was a farm wife and mother. She was a very special grandmother. She was affiliated with the Protestant Church.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Jim Stafford of Burlington; on sister, Carol (Richard) Cluney of Danville; three grandchildren, Trina Wagner of Burlington, Troy (Jennifer) Stafford of DeWitte, and Chrisina (Keith) Thomas of Burlington; five great-grandchildren, Taylor Haynes, Travis and Maria Wagner, all of Burlington, and Brett and Samantha Stafford of DeWitte; lifelong friend, Delbert Laue of Burlington; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, Jack; three brothers, Arthur, Atwood and Carl; and five sisters, Esther, Frances, Cecil, Winnie and Neta.

No formal visitation is planned. Prugh Funeral Service in Burlington is in charge of arrangements.

The graveside funeral for Mrs. Stafford will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery with Chaplain Randy Gearhart officiating. Family and friends are invited for a time of food and fellowship at Howard Johnsons following the funeral.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for GRMC Hospice House
