Earl LeRoy Callaway
Earl LeRoy Callaway, RR 1, Ft. Madison Rd., died at 11:14 a.m. Friday at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids. He was 79.
Callaway was born in Des Moines County, Feb. 17, 1906 to Homer and Myrtle Alber Callaway. He married Mary Lorene Crane Sept. 18, 1935. He was an operations engineer and business agent for Local #537 and retired in 1967. He was a member of the First Christian faith.
Surviving: His wife; two sons, Bob Callaway of Burlington and John Crane of Michigan, N. D.; one brother, Lester Callaway of Burlington; four sisters, Ruth Hagerla of West Burlington; Hazel Moore of Danville; Maxine Mathews of Denver and Vivian McKinnon of Mesa, Ariz.; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Fry Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial has been established for diabete
