Charles Hanks

Charles David Hanks, 65, of 2111 S. 13th, died Monday, Sept. 1, at 4:05 a.m. in Mercy hospital.

He was born Oct. 7, 1903, in Salem, the son of Henry and Mary Parks Hanks. Mar. 12, 1929, he married Marie Capps in Burlington. Mr. Hanks was a member of Asbury Methodist church and was retired from Benner Tea Co. where he had worked for 35 years.

Surviving: the wife; two sons, George R. of 312 Lewis and David of 909 S. Fifth; seven grandchildren.

Services: Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in Elliot-Lunning chapel, Rev. Jerry Richards; Aspen Grove cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for Asbury Methodist church.
