Wilmette Brown

Wilmette Christina Brown, 100, of Burlington, died at 7:05 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at Burlington Care Center.
Born Dec. 9, 1905, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Karl Axel and Augusta Frederica Fiezman Johnson. On April 16, 1927, she married Ray A. Brown in Chicago. He died April 11, 1987.
Mrs. Brown worked in production for Midwest Biscuit for 15 years. She also was a clerk for J.S. Schramm Co.
She was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church and Women's Fellowship at the church. She enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing and baking.
Survivors include one sister, Jeanette Heald of West Burlington; one niece and seven nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, one sister and two infant sons.
Visitation will be from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Prugh's Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 p.m.
The funeral for Mrs. Brown will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Prugh's Chapel, with the Rev. Jason Unzicker officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for Oak Street Baptist Church.
