Charles H. Callaway

Charles Homer Callaway, 91, West Burlington, died Wednesday, May 4, in the Danville Community Home.

Born Feb. 13, 1886, in Pleasant Grove, he was the son of William and Mary Spence Callaway. He married Myrtle Mae Alber, Feb. 15, 1905, in Pleasant Grove; she died Jan. 8, 1969. He was a Des Moines County road patrolman and a member of St. Paul Church of Christ, West Burlington.
Surviving: Two sons, Lester, and Earl, both of Burlington; four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Hagerla, West Burlington, Mrs. Hazel Moore, Danville, Mrs. Maxine Mathews, Fleming, Colo., and Mrs Vivian McKinnon, New London; 17 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

Funeral: 1 p.m. Saturday, Lunning Chapel, Rev. John Frieboes; Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
