Patricia Wilscam Simon
Patricia C. Wilscam Simon, 84, of Burlington, died at 12:18 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born Nov. 25, 1923, in Galesburg, Ill., she was the daughter of Charles Harold and Violet Veronica Higgins McNamara. On Oct. 27, 1945, she married Charles William Wilscam in Burlington. He died Feb. 24, 1948.

Mrs. Wilscam Simon worked as a bookeeper for 20 years at the Burlington Chamber of Commerce and then at The Typewriter Shop for 15 years. She retired Jan. 25, 1995. She was a 1941 graduate of Saint Joseph Academy in Galesburg. She was a member of SS. Mary and Patrick's Catholic Church in West Burlington, the Legion of Mary and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a 35-year member of the Business and Professional Women's Club, the Mended Hearts and the AARP. She raised and showed boxer dogs for more than 25 years, traveling to shows all over the United States.

Survivors include two sons, Joe Wilscam of Edina, Minn. and Stephen L. Wilscam of Bullhead, Ariz.; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.

There will be no visitation. The body has been cremated.

The memorial Mass of the Resurrection for Mrs. Wilscam Simon will be 11 a.m. Friday at SS. Mary and Patrick Catholic Church in West Burlington with the Rev. David G. Steinle officiating. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Galesburg, Ill., at a later date.

A memorial has been established for SS. Mary and Patrick Catholic Church, West Burlington.
